The inaugural IDBF WORLD CUP will now take place in Fuzhou, China, on the 11th and 12th June 2014. It was originally intended to hold the World Cup on the Double Fifth starting the 2 June 2014 but because the ADBF Championships in Macau are scheduled for 30 May-1 June 201414 the World Cup could not be moved back by a couple of days, to allow Asian Teams to travel to the World Cup for a practice day on 1 June 2014, the World Cup dates have been changed.
A secondary reason is that CCTV Sport are also covering the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and so scheduling the IDBF World Cup on the 11th and 12th means that due to the time difference between Brazil and China, CCTV can broadcast 24 hours of live Sports coverage to Asia – Dragon Boating during the day and Football at night!
