NEWS RELEASE (#2026-08)

Junior and 24U to race at 2027 World Championships in Hong Kong

Junior and 24U divisions will race at the 18th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Hong Kong, October 2027. Senior D (70 and over) will also be added to the program.

The Junior and 24U divisions give young athletes a clear pathway into international competition.

“Youth participation is central to the future of our sport, and we explored every option to support our Junior and 24U athletes. Giving national teams certainty early matters, and keeping them within the World Championships in Hong Kong is the right decision for 2027.” Claudio Schermi, IDBF President

Bulletin 1, with full event details, will be published in the coming weeks.

Member Federations can now include Junior, 24U and Senior D crews in their planning for Hong Kong 2027.
