Welcoming the Year of the Snake 2025: Greetings from IDBF President Claudio Schermi

Join us in welcoming the 2025 Chinese New Year and Spring Festival with heartfelt well wishes from Claudio Schermi, President of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF). In this special message, Claudio extends his warm greetings and best wishes to the entire global dragon boat community.

Dear dragon boat paddlers, Honourable Leaders, and Friends, I’m Claudio Schermi, President of the International Dragon Boat Federation. It is my great honour to address you during this joyous celebration of the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival. As the Year of the Dragon, a symbol of strength and unity, concludes, we welcome the Year of the Snake, a sign of wisdom and transformation. The International Dragon Boat Federation is proud to stand with you in honouring our ancient traditions and Qu Yuan’s legacy and building a brighter future for our sport. My heartfelt thanks to my IDBF Colleagues of the Executive and Council, to our Continental Federation, to our Members, to our International Race Officials, to all the paddlers and to all our partners for your dedication to this shared vision. May the Year of the Snake bring prosperity, wisdom, and success to all. Thank you and see you at a competition in 2025, a great year for dragon boat sport.
